Epiphany

UGH!  What is it with these dreadful thumbnail renderings?  Do you think there's a disgruntled YouTube employee out there whose job it is to choose the still shot from videos that gets posted for the whole universe to see and judge you on?  Cuz I'd like to meet that guy and give him a good smack.  Or maybe just lobby for a raise.  After all, this is the Year of the Relationship.

Here it is!  I told you I was going to Vlog! I did this on my iPhone, and it only took 752,000 takes.  Essentially, it's all about living bigger, better, happier lives, with at least one less dog in the world if I have anything to say about it.

This was really fun, though!  You HAVE to try it some time.  And let me know when you do, cuz I'll totally link to it and subscribe to your YouTube channel and everything!  (Mine's Way2DeNae, you know, if you want to go over there and like it or thumbs up it or whatever you do on YouTube.)

Let me know what you think!

(Kindly, of course.  Like Ralphie's old man's lamp, I must be Italian, on accounta I'm a little bit fra-GEE-lay when it comes to doing something new.)

Well done! Loved what you had to say about encouraging each other to develop and strengthen our talents. You go girl!

So fun to put a voice with your blog now! You crack me up continuously. I'm really excited about the music stuff. I'm always looking for creative music arrangements, especially of hymns that I can play in church, or maybe an arrangement of a primary song that we could use for our program this year.

You are awesome.

I love you, DeNae. This made my night.

And for what it's worth, I watched this with my little boys. The one year old laughed his face off. He kept looking at the screen and laughing hysterically. The three year old fell asleep. So there ya go.

Oh, DeNae. I think you're just amazing!
Loved the vlog. So nice to actually get to hear you speak, since I've never made it to one of those conferences.
You touched on two areas I might be interested in pursueing. Food for thought.
Great epiphany. You obviously have a very giving heart.

pursuing....not pursueing. oops!

I loved this too. And I love the purpose behind what you are trying to do. You are being intentional, which is one of my words for the year. Good, good stuff!

And also, I've been working up to doing a vlog... I think you've inspired me to make it soon. And also again, I paused the video to answer the phone at 1:31 and your face was way funnier than the still that graces the video before you push play. Aren't you so glad you have me to tell you it could have been worse?

I love you. Really, truly, you know how much I do.

Hey, your Vlog didn't crash my computer (which many videos do), so I have to say Success! Plus, now whenever I read your blog, I'm going to be picturing you gesturing with your hands. :)

One recommendation: Black is too safe. Next time you need to wear something truly snazzy! I'm thinking a floral muumuu with a feather boa. Maybe bright blue eye shadow. (Or would that be overkill? I dunno.)

That was so cool. I love your epiphany and am so excited for all that is to come on your blog.

Love your vlog.
Love you in person even more.

OK, so you know that I really love you when A) I actually watched your vlog, which I rarely do, and B) I watched your TEN MINUTE vlog.

I am super excited to marry my loves of Snuggies, The Hoff, and my very non-annoying, slobbery dog, Mr. T.

You are very brave, my friend. I wouldn't be caught dead in front of a camera! You, on the other hand, are adorable and hilarious and inspiring and all those things we love! Happy epiphany! I feel motivated to yank myself out of the gutter and get to work.

p.s. Ditto Kristina about the ten-minute vlog!

p.p.s. I'm totally forwarding this to Jeff!

LOVED what you said. All of it! You're a kindred-spirit (hope you're okay with that.) Plus - I think I'm gonna be 48 this year too (i lose track) and....my thoughts are going in the same direction as yours. Maybe there is some mission we're all to be fulfilling at this time.

I hope to connect with you soon. I think it could be a win-win. We seem to have the same type of visions, dreams, goals in mind. I love that fact and ...I love you. You're a remarkable, inspiring, wonderful soul.

But...poor little Jasper. He has no idea what's ahead for him - does he? :)

I put this entry of yours on my NEW FB page. Come visit and 'like' yourself on it. :) Facebook.com/MormonMomsWhoBlog

DaNae,
As always, well said. I think it is so wonderful that you are willing to help so many people with the things you have learned over the years that will allow them to expand their talents and maybe discover new ones they didn't even know they had. I truly believe this is how our Father in Heaven expects us to help each other. You really inspire me. Crack me up most of the time too ;)
Thank you
Shari

Blog Lurker coming out the closet here. I'm Braden Bell's sister (although he might not want that out of the bag ; ) and love your comments on his blog and have loved your blog ever since. You are really really funny, and really interesting. I'm excited to hear more about your spiritual thoughts. I love hearing other's insights (unless there from crazy people in sunday school and I have a panic attack because I feel like the false doctrine police are going to show up) its always so inspiring. Anyway, good stuff, keep it up!

Okay. I found my ten minutes.
1. Bye, Jasper.
2. Your hair looks awesome. Great color. The best.
3. "This is not the year to become rich." Yes. Correct. But for me, this is the year to stop fearing living poor. It is the year to create memories, even if we have to spend some $$ doing it.
4. I love living in your village.
5. The end.

Uh yeah, you're darling. Your hair looks awesome!

I had a bit of an epiphany while watching this. I was thinking..."did she do this on her little netbook computer like mine? Because that's a great picture and maybe I really will start to vlog if I can make my face look as cute as yours with my netbook camera." And then I went back and read that you did that whole thing on your iPhone. So then I gained a testimony of something with an "i" in front of it, which is something I never thought I'd do!

I love you, sister! I'm so excited that one of the relationships you get to cultivate is with ME now that you live closer!!!

You're the goods. You really are.

What a great epiphany! Lovely ideas. Well, right up until the part where you said that I wasn't going to get rich or popular or famous this year. I shut it off after that. Because how could you?

Excited to see the fulfillment of all your vlog promises. :) Great ideas. (Although what else could one expect from hair drying epiphanies?)

Holy smokes, I just love you. You look great. You sound great. Your thoughts and ideas are great.

I might suggest that in your next vlog you state your blog address, because some people will stumble on your youtube posts without having come through the blog way. Get things linked up. Also, are you tweeting still? Get these vlogs out through there also.

You have given me some courage to maybe try some of this action too (I am at kazzyize on youtube).
