Just in Time...

..for the kids to go back to school and miss it all.  This happens maybe once every two years here in Vegas.  My apologies to everyone who wanted it a weekend earlier; this is totally my karma's fault.

The weird thing is, it really is this blurry here.  It's like the whole town has group astigmatism.

Good thing Sadie has a fur coat, huh?  Ha!  I slay me.

OK, I was kidding about the group astigmatism thing.  I took these from my iStupid phone, while standing on my patio in my underoos, a raincoat and flipflops.  It was the neighbors who were praying for vision problems, like maybe they'd contract Sudden Greek Tragedy Syndrome, where everyone accidentally marries their mother and then gouges out their eyes.
S'what they get for building a giant deck overlooking my yard.

I'll post my epic New Year's Resolutions later this week. I'm just waiting for a couple of clearances from NASA and a call-back from the Nobel and Pulitzer committees.  Apparently only SOME of us went back to work today.  Meanwhile, here's my Family New Year's Update Letter, and the post I wrote apologizing to my children for telling the truth in the
Family New Year's Update Letter.
That should give you plenty to read until it's too late to get the laundry done.
You're welcome.

I cannot wait to see what about your new years resolutions make them epic. I mean, that's a pretty big word. You must have HUGE plans for this year. I bet it even includes something like, FLY TO NORTH CAROLINA TO SEE JENNY.

We got snow up here in St. George too! My kids still had to go to school though...bummer.

I am brimming with non-jealousy. I heard there was the slightest possibility of snow where I work and I thought about taking the day off.

Still waiting for the "big" snow here in MO. Not looking forward to it.

Yeah, we have way too much snow. I am waiting for the thaw. It did not help today that the pipes broke in the Post Office where I work. I have been standing and working in cold water all day. Hope your resolutions are totally amazing. I did a one word resolution this year and am going to see how that goes.

A Vegas frost? Pretty awesome.

And anyone who invades my privacy by building a big deck deserves to be assaulted. No Bathsheba syndrome here.

Holy toledo! Is that snow? How are people coping? They should make a new hotel on the strip dedicated to the new snow. Like a snow themed casino. Actually, I am sure it is already in the work.

Aw man! Stupid snow coming a week late! Remember when your kids collected all the snow from the park and put it in your Yukon and took it home and built a snowman? And then someone had to come put a carrot in for you? Hahaha! Good times.

Proving once again, that your kids are freakin' awesome.

Poor Sadie.

I'm very disgruntled about the whole snow thing. We lived in the northwest part of town for ten years, and the snow always skipped us on our sleepy little street.

So we move over here to Henderson, which definitely got hit the last time it snowed, and what do you know? It skipped us again!

We must have some sort of cool weather plague or something.

Loved all your recent posts. You have a gift for this, and I am so glad you share with us all. As a Vegas ex-pat, however, let me fill you in on history of snow in Vegas. Prior to yesterday, and the dusting that you got on Dec. 18, 2008, the last time Vegas got truly measurable snowfall was Jan. 31, 1979. We got about 6 inches across the whole valley and my dad, who was away on a photo assignment in Hibbing, Minnesota, couldn't get home because McCarran was closed.

If your new years resolutions are half as funny as the two posts before this, I'll die. Do you hear me? DIE! But at least I'll die happy. =D

Yes, I thought it was cruel to snow here right when kids had to go back. I was slightly amazed that the whole town didn't shut down, I figured that people would be too scared to come outside or something. And I bet the neighbors built that deck so they could watch their famous neighbors and blog about it.

and I'm not talking about your sight impaired photo

Seriously?
You call that snow?
LV is a sissy.
Just sayin'
You need to come to the cold depths of hell and get some hair on your chest.

Uh, your kids are totally cute by the way.

4 hours north of you, there is not only more snow than you can see in a Las Vegas lifetime, but we are enjoying temperatures like -13.

It is seriously eerie that you knew I came to your blog to avoid doing laundry. You must be SO righteous to be entitled to that level of revelation. I am in awe.

This comment is a test. I'm having trouble signing in to my own blog so I'm wondering if my password will work when I leave a comment here.

Love you, sister!

I live in the unfortunate part of Vegas where it didn't snow, but the pics are gorgeous and I'm jealous.

JUst spending some time catching up around here and in addition to making me laugh - as per usual - I have to tell you that when I heard it was snowing in LV - I KNEW you would be the one person I could count on to take pics and document the strange phenomenom.

Thanks for the giggles.....
